Since its creation in 1933, the beer can has seen many variations throughout the years. “What started as a tin can that weighed in at a whopping 4 ounces and required a churchkey to open, has since been turned into a much lighter aluminum can with an easy to open stay tab” (Decades 1). Since the 1970s the beer can hasn’t seen much change, which leads us to ask the question. What’s next? Meet the stubby can, an 8.4 ounce variation of the traditional 12 ounce beer can. This new can style offers a list of benefits for consumers.
